RITA A. JULIUS

Rita A. Julius, age 75, of Humboldt, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 22, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Rita was born on Aug. 1, 1951 to Lyle and Kathleen (Bradley) Jennings. She grew up in Bradgate with her five siblings. Rita worked for more than 25 years at Bank Iowa, where she formed many friendships throughout the years.
Rita and Ron Julius shared 54 years of marriage and a life centered around family. Together they raised four children, spoiled eight grandchildren and built a lifetime of memories.
Family gatherings were especially important to Rita, and she had a way of making holidays memorable. She loved preparing everyone’s favorite meals and always made more than enough—because no one was supposed to leave without leftovers to take home. Feeding her family was one of the many ways Rita showed her love, and the meals, conversations, laughter and time spent together around her table will remain treasured memories.
Rita is survived by her husband, Ron Julius; her four children, Tracey (Hugh) Skjeveland of Lakeville, MN, Kelly (Dave) Prescott of Lakeville, MN, Landon (Nicole) Julius of Parkville, MO and Brooke (Ryan) Lents of Huxley; and her eight grandchildren Makena, Conner, Parker, Brayden, Nolan, Addison, Mason and Hailey.
She is also survived by her siblings, Vicki (Gary) Reutter, Paul (Rita) Jennings, Jim (Sue) Jennings, Brian (Pam) Jennings, Lynn Kenney and sister-in-law Luanne Julius.
Rita’s family gathered privately to celebrate her life and say their goodbyes.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation, in gratitude for the compassionate care Rita received throughout her illness, or to the Humboldt Recreation Center, in remembrance of the many happy hours she spent there playing pickleball and socializing with friends.
