Register by April 15 for May 1 walk/run for mental health

The Humboldt County Memorial Hospital (HCMH) Foundation has announced a fun afternoon of activities at Humboldt High School on Sunday, May 1. A Humboldt 5K Color Run/Walk will be held that afternoon to raise funds to support mental health and suicide awareness.
The Humboldt 5K Color Run/Walk is a five-kilometer, untimed event. At each kilometer mark, color runners are doused from head to toe in a different colored powder.
Participants wear white at the starting line and finish the race plastered in color. Once the race is over, the fun continues with music, photo ops, activity booths, vendors and more massive color throws, which create millions of vivid color combinations.
People may pick up their color gear starting at 1 p.m., with the run/walk event to start at 2:30 p.m. All participants will receive a T-shirt, sunglasses and powder. The cost is $35 for general registration and $15 for students.
The registration deadline is Friday, April 15.
People may register online at www.humboldthospital.org or mail entries and checks payable to the HCMH Foundation at 1000 North 15th St., Humboldt, IA 50548.
All proceeds from this event go to support mental health and suicide awareness through actions that support, educate and empower patients, students and families of Humboldt County.
