School administrators hear ideas for suggested improvements

“With school improvement we want to be the best we can be all the time and it’s a continual process,” Humboldt Superintendent of Schools Murray said.
To that end, the school administration hosted a school improvement planning meeting in the Humboldt Middle School recently. The meeting involved about 30 stakeholders who discussed the strategic goals and priorities of district and ways for improvement.
“You should always be reflecting on what you are currently doing and gathering input from as many people, representing as many different groups as possible,” Humboldt School Superintendent Jim Murray said.
“We had stakeholder representatives from all segments of the community – students, parents, teachers, school bus drivers, business people and other members of the community,” Murray said of the makeup of the group.
“We had great feedback on several topics, from how we can communicate better on social media to how we can make our school buildings safer and how we can spend our money more wisely,” Murray said.
“We want to look over certain themes and things that were mentioned more than once. We’ll be sharing it with our admin team and then the school board,” Murray said. Humboldt School Board member Shane Davis was one of those attending the meeting.
The administrative team and the school board will utilize input gathered to help formulate a strategic plan for the district.
