Wildcats shutout Cadets, move to 4-2 in NCC

HOST STORM LAKE IN REGIONAL OPENER Oct. 17
The Humboldt volleyball team kept pace in the North Central Conference race by sweeping Iowa Falls-Alden in three sets at Iowa Falls on Thursday night (Oct. 5). Humboldt won by scores of 25-13, 25-21 and 25-20 to improve to 4-2 in the NCC, 10-13 overall. IFA slipped to 8-20 overall, 2-4 in the NCC.
Volleyball team falls to Dodgers in 3 sets
The Fort Dodge volleyball team avenged an early-season loss to Humboldt by stopping the Wildcats in three sets in the Fort Dodge gym on Tuesday night, Oct. 3.
The host Dodgers won by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-17.
Humboldt plays in the Mason City tournament on Saturday, Oct. 7.
The Wildcats host Bondurant-Farrar on Tuesday, Oct. 10, and host Algona on Oct. 12, to end the regular season.
REGIONAL PAIRINGS
Class 4A regional tournament pairings were announced this past week and the Wildcats will host Storm Lake in a first round Class 4A regional on Tuesday, Oct. 17, in a 7 p.m. match. The winner will play No. 3 ranked Adel DeSoto-Minburn on Oct. 19 at Adel. The other half of 4A Region 3 has Fort Dodge hosting Perry on Oct. 17 with the winner facing Dallas Center-Grimes on Oct. 19 in Grimes. A regional final is set for Oct. 24 at a site to be determined. The highest ranked team remaining will host the regional final for the right to advance to the state tournament.
