Humboldt speed too much for Spencer in 35-13 Wildcat victory

Cash McIntire rushed for three touchdowns to power the Humboldt Wildcat football team to a 35-13 victory over the Spencer Tigers in a non-district season opener on Mason Maach Field in Humboldt on Friday night, Aug. 29.

McIntire scored on runs of 3, 58 and 1 yard as Humboldt broke open a 7-7 halftime score. Quarterback Jackson Flaherty teamed up with teammate Chase Flaherty on a 34-yard touchdown pass to put Humboldt on the scoreboard in the second quarter.

The Wildcats also got a 30-yard fumble recovery return for a touchdown by Nash Palmer at 5:28 in the third quarter.

Kamden Young scored both of Spencer's touchdowns on rushing plays as the Tigers fell to 0-1 on the new season.

The Wildcats will now prepare for next week's home game with the Clear Lake Lions. Clear Lake battered Forest City, 69-0 on Friday night.
