Winter Storm Watch issued for Humboldt County

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued the following Winter Storm Watch for Humboldt and neighboring counties.

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Light snow and snow showers are possible. Winds gusts over 50 mph are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, northwest, and west central Iowa.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially nearly impossible and life-threatening. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
