Bank Iowa celebrates 50 years

Fifty years ago in 1976, Donald Duncan, Robert Duncan and Harry Barr purchased their first bank, Citizens State Bank, later to become Bank Iowa, in their hometown of Clarinda.
From that humble beginning more branches were added to the Bank Iowa family culminating in 23 locations throughout the state.
Now, 50 years later, Bank Iowa is celebrating the milestone with a birthday party complete with ice cream and prizes. The public is encouraged to stop by the downtown location on Thursday, July 16 from 12 to 3 p.m. to join in the celebration.
"While we're proud to celebrate 50 years of Bank Iowa, these events aren't really about us, they're about the clients, communities and team members who made the last 50 years possible,” Bank Iowa President & CEO, Jason Herrboldt said. “Every business that took a chance, every family that trusted us, every community that welcomed us, and every team member who showed up each day to serve others helped shape who we are today. These celebrations are our opportunity to say thank you and recognize the people and places that have been at the heart of our story from the very beginning."
“Fifty years with the same family ownership is a milestone worth celebrating but we could not have reached it without our customers and team members. I would like to thank them both for contributing to our success over the last 50 years. I’m also excited for the future of Bank Iowa, to continue working with the relationships we have developed with customers and supporting the communities we proudly serve,” Community Bank President Angela Frerk said.
