The Spencer Tigers snapped a three-game losing streak to Humboldt by upending the Wildcats, 26-7 in a season-opening non-district football game at Spencer on Friday night, Aug. 27.

The Tigers built up a 19-0 halftime lead and never let up as their ball control ground game with an occasional big pass was enough to keep the Wildcats in check at Dale Norton Field in Spencer.

Humboldt's only score came with 39 seconds left in the game when quarterback Caden Fredin scored on a short run. Nova Christensen kicked the point-after for the Wildcats.

Humboldt will resume non-district play when they travel to Clear Lake on Friday, Sept. 4 to face long-time foe Clear Lake. Clear Lake is coming off a 56-8 victory over Forest City.
