Fishers, Malo in top 5
Led by the trio of Avery Fisher, Aubry Fisher and Jade Malo, the Humboldt girls’ cross country team finished third in the team scoring of the Algona Invitational on Monday, Sept. 28.
Humboldt totaled 97 points to finish behind Clear Lake (60) and Sioux Center (87). Avery Fisher was second individually in 19:52.13. Malo, a freshman, was third at 20:07.58 and Aubry Fisher was fifth in 20:20.51
The Humboldt boys were 15th as a team. Henry Kramer finished 28th in 18:19.13 to pace the Wildcats. Isaac Fowler was 93rd in 21:14.08.
In the middle school races, Hadley Asche and Meredith Heider led the Humboldt girls. Asche finished fifth in 15:02.70 while Heider was sixth in 15:12.55 to pace the Wildcats.
