KRISTA L. LILLY

Krista L. Lilly, 63, of Livermore, formerly of Nora Springs, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026 at her home in Livermore. She was surrounded by those who loved her.
Krista was born Nov. 2, 1962 in Prairie du Chien, WI the daughter of Jon and Rosemary (Rozinek) Welsch. She was raised and educated in Prairie du Chien and later Monticello. Following her schooling she moved to Mason City where she worked as a cook in various restaurants throughout her life. On July 10, 2009 Krista was united in marriage to Terry E. Lilly in Charles City. The couple made their home on the farm, which was one of mom’s biggest dreams. They later relocated to Nora springs for several years and then back to Livermore.
Some people live their lives quietly, neatly and within the lines. Then there are those who did not. Krista was one of those souls. She was artistic, cunning, complicated, fiercely loving, a fighter and wonderfully witty. A woman who kept her cards close, who felt deeply, lived in her own way and left pieces of herself in the hearts of the people, animals and places she touched. Nature was where her soul seemed to belong, She loved the outdoors, the freedom of the wind and the thrill of the hunt. Nothing captured her spirit quite like a storm. The rolling thunder mirrored the woman she was. She was powerful, unpredictable, beautiful and impossible to contain. She always had a tune playing somewhere in the background, a song filling the quiet moments and becoming the soundtrack of her life. She was not perfect, nor was she meant to be. She was beautifully human, full of contradictions, knowledge, struggles and love. She was a woman who took pride in who her kids became, and who her grandbabies will be and always bragged about them. She was a woman who did everything to keep her family together, She loved us beyond words. She will be missed dearly, remembered for everything she loved and how passionately she cared for those around her. She deserved the love Terry gave her and support he shared without limitations. Her spirit lives within us all, and we will carry her with us in each moment of every day from here on.
Krista is survived by her husband Terry of Livermore, her children; Savannah (Jacob) Vote of Livermore, Dakota Welsch and Cheyenne Welsch both of Nora Springs, her step-children; Breanna Robinson of Nora Springs, Crysta (John) Mason of Mason City and Jaden Lilly of Bondurant; her grandchildren; Julian, Titus, Nevaeh, Braden and Kaelynn, her great-grandchildren, Elias and My’Ava and her brothers and sisters; Cheri (Bill) Blakely, Tana (Rich) Bagur, Joe (Martha) Welsch and Chuck (Beth) Welsch. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Michelle Stanislawski and step-son, Tyler Lilly.
