The Humboldt boys' basketball team climbed to 4-0 overall, 3-0 in North Central Conference play by roughing up the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys, 74-31 in an NCC game at Clarion on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
Corey Dettmann scored 16 points and Elliot Carlson made 14 to top the Wildcat scoring. Will Orness added 10 for Humboldt, which led 38-21 at halftime.
The Wildcats also got eight points from Josh Thurm, seven from Evan Hatcher and six from Tayeton Lohaus.
The Wildcats were scheduled to host Garner-Hayfield/Ventura on Thursday, Dec. 22, in their final game before the holiday break. That game has been moved to Jan. 19 due to inclement weather. Humboldt's next game is at home on Jan. 3 against Fort Dodge, at 5:45 p.m. The JV game has been cancelled. The Wildcats host Webster City on Jan. 6.
